AFC International

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

All For Christ (AFC) is an international movement of Christians from many denominations dedicated to presenting Jesus personally to this generation, to mobilizing as many as possible to help in this task, and to the training and equipping of believers for their part in fulfilling the Great Commission. As citizens of God’s kingdom, we are called to love, worship, and obey our Lord, to love and serve His body, the Church, and to present the whole Gospel for the whole person throughout the whole world.

We of All For Christ believe that the Bible is God’s inspired and authoritative word, revealing that Jesus Christ is God’s son; that people are created in God’s image; that He created us to have eternal life through Jesus Christ; that although all people have sinned and come short of God’s glory, God has made salvation possible through the death on the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ; that repentance, faith, love and obedience are fitting responses to God’s initiative of grace toward us; that God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth; and that the Holy Spirit’s power is demonstrated in and through us for the accomplishment of Christ’s last commandment, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:19-20).

CORE BELIEFS

ABOUT THE BIBLE

  • It is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. Therefore, it serves as the final word on all that humanity is to do and believe. (Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

ABOUT THE ONE TRUE GOD

  • There is only one God, and He exists eternally as three distinguishable and indivisible persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three persons, but only one essence.

    (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 45:22; Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

ABOUT JESUS CHRIST

  • Our Lord Jesus Christ existed before time began as God the Son. In time, He was miraculously conceived by a virgin and lived as a human while remaining divine. During His sinless human life, He performed actual miracles, fulfilled prophecy, fulfilled God’s law, and revealed God to humanity. His death was a substitutionary sacrifice for sinful humanity, securing forgiveness for all who believe in Him so that they may be restored back to a proper relationship with God.
Through this act of love and grace, Jesus also defeated Satan’s control over the believer’s life and guaranteed Satan’s eternal damnation. Jesus was resurrected after three days and ascended into Heaven where He now sits at the right hand of the Father as our Intercessor and High Priest. He will soon return to gather His elect and usher in a new heaven and earth.

    (Matthew 5:17; Mark. 1:32-34; Luke 1:26-35; 14:1-7; John 1:1, 14, 18; 3:16-17; 10:30; Acts 1:9-11; 3:18; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:52; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-11; Colossians 2:13-15; Hebrews 2:14-15; 4:15; 7:25; 8:1; 9:11-28; 10:12-14; 1 Peter 2:22; 3:22; 1 John 2:1; Revelation 3:11; 10:10; 21:1)

ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT

  • God the Holy Spirit is equal with God the Father and God the Son. He takes up residence within the believer at the moment of salvation and immediately begins the work of transforming that person from the inside out. His conscience indwelling is the seal that assures the believer of their adoption by God and enables them to love and follow Christ.
The filling of the Holy Spirit is promised to all born-again believers to be empowered witnesses for Christ in this world. The Spirit’s filling makes all the gifts recorded in the Bible possible through the church today. The genuineness of any spiritual gift or miracle must be tested by Scripture.

    (Mark 1:10-11; John 16:26-27; 16:7-15; Acts 1:8; 5:3-4; Romans 5:5; 8:9, 15-16; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 1:13-14; Galatians 4:6-7; 5:16-25; 1 Thessalonians 5:19-21; 2 Timothy 1:7; Titus 2:11-12; Hebrews 10:29)

ABOUT HUMANITY

  • All of humanity is sinful and under the wrath of a holy God. God loves the world and decided to rescue humanity. Therefore, the only means of salvation is the grace of God working to lead a person to repentance and faith in Jesus’ work on the cross. Though all of humanity is fallen, they remain God’s image bearers and are therefore to be treated with dignity regardless of whether they embrace the truth of the Gospel or not.
God created men and women and instituted the sacred covenant of marriage. Marriage is the union of one biologically born man with one biologically born woman and is God’s means for companionship, human procreation, and sexual fulfillment. God hates divorce, yet He does allow it under specific circumstances.

    (Genesis 1:26; 1:27-28; 2:18-25; Malachi 2:16; Matthew 19:3-9; Mark 1:15; John 3:16-17; Acts 2:38; 16:31; Romans 5:6-8; 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-20; 7:15-17; Ephesians 2:4-10; 5:22-33)

ABOUT SALVATION

  • By the grace of God, salvation is available to all humanity. This grace gives the gift of faith which is then exercised in repentance which leads to salvation. Believers are saved and justified by grace through faith alone, not by righteous acts or human merit. Salvation takes place when the Holy Spirit regenerates the believer’s spirit, and they are “Born Again.” Spiritual rebirth by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for salvation.

    (John 3:3-17; Acts 20:21; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 2:16, 21; Ephesians 2:4-10; Titus 2:11; 3:5-7; 2 Peter 3:9)

ABOUT THE CHURCH

  • The Church is the universal, born again, body of people that believe in Jesus Christ as their sole Lord and Savior.
Christ gave the Church two ordinances to practice until His return:

    1. Water Baptism after believing, repenting, and receiving the gift of salvation.

    2. Holy Communion (or, the Lord’s Supper) as a symbol of Christ’s suffering and death for our salvation.

    (Matthew 28:19; Luke 22:14-20; Romans 6:4; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32, Ephesians 2:19-22)

ABOUT THE END

  • The blessed hope of the Church is the imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ to gather born again believers unto Himself. There will be a resurrection and final judgment of both the saved and the lost, the saved to everlasting life and the lost to everlasting damnation.

    (John 5:28-29; 14:3; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:17; Titus 2:11-14; Revelation 20:11-15)
